Paul was drafted in November, 1943 and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II. ![]() Paul graduated from Cambridge Rindge Technical High School in 1943. He was born in Cambridge, MA on September 6, 1925, son of the late Angelo and Lucia (Romano) DeMeo and had lived in Gardner for many years. Notably, Amato's remains were not sent to the landfill on Fountain Avenue. However, once he stepped inside, he was shot dead and dismembered. On September 20th, 1980, Roy DeMeo lured Amato to the Gemini Lounge under the pretense that he wanted to talk business with him. However, the couple eventually separated due to Amato's infidelity and physical abuse.Ī couple of years after their divorce, Castellano allegedly ordered the death of his former son-in-law. Mob associate Frank Amato was one person who fell victim to the "Gemini method."Īmato was married to Constance Castellano, who was the daughter of Gambino crime boss Paul Castellano. Sending the remains to the landfill on Fountain Avenue also complicated matters for the authorities, as tons of garbage were dumped there on a daily basis. In the eyes of the DeMeo crew, it was a quick and easy way of making their enemies disappear without making too much of a mess. This "procedure" was nicknamed the "Gemini method" because most of the victims were murdered in an apartment at the back of the lounge. Their body parts were then wrapped in plastic, placed into cardboard boxes and dumped at a landfill on Fountain Avenue. This step was necessary because the human heart has its own electrical system that will continue to pump blood around the body for a short period of time after the brain has died.įollowing the murder, the person was disrobed and dismembered in a bathtub at the back. ![]() To limit the victim's blood flow and prevent further bleeding, another member of the crew would stab them in the heart. At that point, the crew's leader, Roy DeMeo, would shoot them in the head with a silenced pistol and then quickly wrap a towel around their wound. ![]() The victims were usually lured into the lounge via a side door. It is believed that between 100 and 200 people were secretly murdered and dismembered inside of this building. Ironically, it is now the location of a religious organization called "Purpose Life Church." It is situated on the corner of Flatlands Avenue and East 41st Street in Brooklyn, New York.ĭuring the 1970s and 1980s, it was the headquarters of a notorious mob outfit called the DeMeo crew, which was a part of the Gambino crime family. ![]() This is the former location of the infamous Gemini Lounge. ![]()
